A comprehensive inquiry led by Justice John Michael D’Cunha produced a critical report, deeming the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium 'fundamentally unsafe' for large events. It highlighted insufficient entry and exit points, inadequate emergency preparedness, and poor crowd management as key issues. The report held RCB, its event partners, and the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) accountable for severe mismanagement and recommended disciplinary measures against several officials.

Consequences: Stadium Excluded from ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025

As a direct result of the inquiry's findings, the Chinnaswamy Stadium has been removed as a venue for the upcoming Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. High-profile matches, including a semi-final and possibly the final, will now take place at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
